Most people find softgel capsules even easier to swallow than hard shell capsules, because their smooth, flexible gelatine shell tends to glide down more readily with water.
What This Means for Our Customers
The main change is that Vision Defender MAC is no longer suitable for vegans or vegetarians, since the softgel shell is derived from non-vegan sources.
For those looking for a vegan or vegetarian alternative, we recommend Vision Defender AMD PLUS. It contains the same three macular carotenoids as MAC (lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin), along with additional vitamins and minerals (such as vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper) for broader support based on the AREDS2 study.
