Take ONE tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day, with food.

Yes.  Although most people can swallow the tablets whole without any problems, some people may find it easier to take the tablets by doing one of the following:

*Chew some food (for example, a banana). Just before you swallow, pop the tablet into your mouth and swallow it together with the chewed food. Next, swallow some liquid (water would be fine). The tablet should go down more easily because the throat should open up wider to swallow the chewed food.

*Swallow the tablet with thick liquids, such as smoothies or yoghurts.

*Cut the tablet in half or smaller pieces and take each piece with some liquid.

*Crush the tablet. You may mix the crushed tablet in some food before swallowing with some liquid.

Very high doses of zinc can have negative effects.  It has been shown that 25mg zinc is just as effective as 80mg zinc.  It is considered safer to have a lower dose (25mg) of zinc.


Vitamin A is indeed good for maintaining normal vision.  However, too much vitamin A can lead to toxicity.  Supplements commonly contain beta-carotene, which, in the body, is converted into vitamin A.  However, research shows smokers who take high doses of beta-carotene (such as in supplements) are at an increased risk of developing lung cancer.  Lutein and zeaxanthin has NOT been associated with cancer risk.  It has been shown that replacing beta-carotene with lutein and zeaxanthin is just as effective.

No it’s not.  A daily multivitamin alone does not provide the high levels of antioxidants and zinc recommended.  Also, daily multivitamins do not usually contain lutein and zeaxanthin.

Yes you can.  Vision Defender AMD vitamins supplement is not a substitute for a daily multivitamin.  However, it is always best to check with a doctor or pharmacist if you are already taking a daily multivitamin.

The high levels of antioxidants and zinc recommended are very difficult to achieve through diet alone.  We recommend taking Vision Defender AMD alongside a healthy diet.
